Use big writing, dogs dont read well, or use signs, a cat for example, or a juicy bone, rover will get the hang of it real soon.

Isn’t there enough of those foolish get rich quick, by exploiting pets, schemes on tv. You can throw anything to a dog (or cat for that matter) and they’ll gobble it up. Human type foods, and ingredients, aren’t good for domestic pets anyway. But, that’s just me.
