Do you think that Obama is having a fresh veggie garden at the White house because he is afraid of our food?
birdie asked:
I am afraid of Monsanto food both because of the added poisons and the problems with GM foods. Not as good or tasty.

I doubt that Obama is really promoting Victory gardens so much as protecting his kids from Monsanto foods.
I am a gourmet cook…Oh -not really- but I do not eat processed foods that cause cancer. I pay extra to buy foods without added chemicals…including meats. So did Bush even though he promoted the foods he would not eat for the rest of us with deregulations.

I doubt it. I think he probably just wants to come across as being just like everybody else.

Yeah, he probly wants to be safe. My parents have veggie gardens, and dang…it is delish! So much better than anything non-organic.

That place is so regimented and secure that he’s probably trying to make it a little more homey.

He’s trying to set an example for us. But the fact is that they’re hardly going to grow all the food eaten at the White House in a garden in back. ∠°)

Maybe is likes to garden and grow his own veggies like half the people in this country. I know I do…100% natural that way

He really is into do the best of everything this is the best way to get veggies so why not. What a great idea. He also inspires people when he does this kinds of things. Bush told us to go shopping so people spent money like crazy it did keep the economy circulating but using credit to do that is now why we are where we are.

Another layer of shellac on the act. Like Carter and his cozy cardigans…..squeeee! He’s a nice man just like us!
Whatever. It’s all an act to make folks think he’s so special. (he is, but not in a good way). My concern is how it looks to those on the outside looking in….. I mean, sorry guys, but most other countries brag about having leaders that wrestle tigers to the ground.
Having a garden looks kinda, ah….lame.
BTW, I have a garden too, and until I see him out there pulling weeds or getting pissed about the birds eating his seedlings or ranting when he finds that caterpillars ate the tops off of his ‘mater plants, I’m not impressed.

I think the Mother in law likes to Garden and it will give the kids a learning experience and away from the TV Im sure that living at the white for 4 years to a kid after the newness wears off could get to be Boring
