Can a food truck have a liquor license in California?
mcmaddox_2000 asked:
My girlfriend and I were debating whether or not a food truck (like the gourmet kind that are popular in LA right now) could have a liquor license. I think it should be possible as long as they provide a place for people to sit so they could (technically) have an eat-in versus take-out service. She thinks it would violate open container laws, so they’d be denied. What does the law say? What are the rules about liquor licenses for food trucks? Help settle this debate…

It honestly depends on what kind of truck it is and what license the driver has. If it’s a Ford or a larger sized truck (think UPS) it’s possible, but otherwise the answer is NO.
