What are some good food recipes for dogs?
Chihiro00 asked:
I want to start feeding my dog home cooked food for dinner (dog food in the morning, home cooked food in the evening). What are some good recipes that I can prepare for him?
So far I’ve tried baked chicken and carrots and he loves it.
by the way I should add that I am not going to do the whole raw food thing with my dog. so please do not suggest that

Never feed Human Food for dogs.
Dogs love Dog Food.
They don’t need variety like us humans.
Once in a while feed him apples, eggs (boiled).
Anything else is bad for them in the long run.

My dogs love to eat leftover scrambled eggs and bacon in the morning, and sometimes hashbrowns as well. Also, this might sound disgusting, but grease from cooking poured over their dry food is a favorite of theirs as well. You might think that unhealthy, but it’s actually helped to heal my dogs faster (in my opinion) when they come home with barbed wire cuts and such. My Australian Kelpie mix also like apples to chew on.

My dad makes up this mix.
Mince, rice, vegetables of all sorts and beef stock.
Cook the vegetables in the micorwave or boil them until they are soft. Boil mince in water and beef stock and when cooked add vegetables. Turn down low, put lid on pot and let simmer until vegetables go mushy and it all mixs together.
It doesnt look to crash hot but his dogs love it
Hope that helps. I guess you could use different sorts of mince if your dog doesnt like brrf or just for something different. It doesnt matter what vegetables. Im pretty sure dad uses carrots, potato, a little pumpkin, little broccoli, spinach. Its just like making a stew for humans.

During the pet food scare, my vet said to mix FATTY ground meat (beef, pork, etc.) with brown rice and a vegetable. Most dogs love green beans.
It’s important to get the fatty meat because dogs need the fat.
Mine (2 Labs) have been living on it since the pet food recall and are happy and healthy!

Dogs are carnivores, they are Canis lupus familiaris. This means they are the closest decendants of Grey Wolves. Do wolves in the wild cook their food? Then why would you want to cook food for your dogs.

I feel sorry for your dog. He’s really missing out. Raw is the most appropriate food for dogs. You’d be surprised at the health of raw fed dogs. We are able to kiss vet’s goodbye. Raw feed dogs have clean, pearly white teeth. No need to brush or take to vet and have them cleaned. No bad doggie breath. No flea problems. **** does not smell, there is very little of it, and left out in the sun, it turns to white powder and disappears because the dog’s digestive system was able to remove all of the nutrients from it. Ever seen a commercially fed dog’s **** do that? If you did research on the net, you too would see that raw is the most appropriate way to feed your canines.
