Is there anything cool to do in Austin besides shopping and eating out?

There’s got to be more things to do in Austin than just shopping and eating out…

Yes, you will want to spend time downtown on 6th Street, particularly during the weekends. Hit as many of the clubs as you can for Austin the Live Music Capital of the World.

For outdoors, you will want to visit Lake Travis where you can either rent a boat or befriend the Austintacious locals who will happily take you to the many coves around the lake known for their party atmosphere. While you are there, you definitely will want to have lunch or dinner at the Oasis–bring a camera. There are more than enough hiking trails to work off excessive amounts of beer and fine wine you may consume in many fine restaurants.

While you’re there, you might as well take in the sights of San Antonio which is about a one hour drive from Austin. Check out the River Walk.

Trust me, friend….you will not be left without something to do while in Austin.

Yes! Climb Mount Bonnell, Swim at Barton Springs Pool, Walk thru Zilker Botanical Garden, Walk or bike around Lake Austin, Watch the Bat Exodus at dusk over Congress Ave Bridge.

BTW, eat a chili cheese burger at Shady Grove and have BBQ at The Salt Lick.
