Are restaurants in Pasadena california required to have a fire alarm system? If so, or not. Please elaborate. I work in a restaurant in Pasadena and SSD is trying to sell us a firel alarm system telling us it’s required. Is it? Thank you for your answer!

I am pretty sure that it is a state law. My church now has to go under construction because it does not have a sprinkler system or a fire alarm. If it is a public building, then yes you have to have one. You can check with your local fire department, they would know the laws.

Why wouldn’t it be required?? You could be sued or charged a lot of money if the health department sees you dont’ have fire alarms!!!! And especially in restaurants with all the people and the stove tops!!! Dangerous hellllloooo. you better get a system fast
