Recipes for a newlywed couple trying to eat healthier?

blessed316 asked:

My husband and I have been eating fast food and junk food so much and we’re starting to feel the effects of it. We want to start eating healthier but we’re on a budget when it comes to buying groceries.

Our diet has mostly consisted of beef, fried foods, and sodas. We’re ready for a big change but need inexpensive and easy to cook recipes! We’re just beginners in the kitchen, so the simpler, the better!

here r a couple of the easiest but best recipes my family just LOVES.

    pre-heat over to 350

put chicken in baking pan and smother with italian dressing for extra flavor sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. YUMMY cover tightly with foil,
throw it in oven for about 2 1/2 hours and u have your self a delicious meal the chicken just falls apart when u touch it with a fork. enjoy

now if u want the same delicious meal that falls apart when u touch it with the fork do all the same steps above but instead of smothering in italian smother with a bottle of bar b que sauce. cover and cook 2 1/2 hours and tah dah dinner is served and your family will be happy

Kudo’s on your new marriage and your choice to eat healthier. I am like you, I prefer the easy quick meal due to time constraints, but those aren’t the healthiest of choices. I can give you one healthy recipe, that I actually got from wiehgt watchers that I actually love, and it’s easy. it’s stuffed chicken ****** and recipe follows.

    3-4 7-8 oz boneless, skinless chicken *******.
6 oz package of goat cheese
4 oz of sundried tomato’s (they come in a jar)
rosemary, thyyme and sage (fresh or dried, add to your liking)
    low fat mayonaise
    italian bread crumbs.

Rinse clean the chicken breasts, and lay flay onto cutting board, using a small sharp paring knife, cut into the side of the ****** at the thickest part, and form a pocket inside the chicken ****** with a cut opening the size of a teaspoon. In mixing bowl, mix goat cheese, chopped up sundried tomato’s and herbs and mix well. Spoon mixture into each chicken breast, and press down on ****** to spread around inside. Then lay stuffed ****** onto greased baking dish or pan, and brush with low fat mayonaise on the tops of all the *******. Coat with italian bread crumbs, and bake in 375 degree oven for 20-30 minutes till done, serve with brown or wild rice and veggie of choice. This is me and my GF favorite meal, and inexpensive to boot. The other option I recommend is Allrecipes.com site. These are recipes entered by people from all over, that other people try and rate, along with suggestions. They have a healthy food section to their site, and you can always find great recipes there. The link is below. Hope this helps, good luck..
