Looking for simple recipies. I know almost nothing about cooking?
Cokey asked:
I’d like to learn to cook, or at least pretend like I know how. To prepare any kind of meal more sophisticated than Easy Mac, is what I’m saying.

My friend showed me the magic of wing dip, and it has gotten me through some tough times.
But what is something simple, and easy to make. I try googling recipes, but the simple word Recipe is such a hot topic, there’s not a chance in hell anything useful can be found by a general search.
So, Yahoo Answers, I have turned to you. What do you have for me to make living on my own as a lazy slob easier?

I’m a beginner cook as well and these are places that I have looked to start.. so far so good. Some of the recipes have only 3-5 ingredients then you have those with many ingredients. I tend to stick with the more simple ones. Also I look for slow cooker recipes because those are extremely easy– you just let the crock pot do the cooking
I hope this helps!

1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar

Flank or Skirt steak
Mix all ingredients together and marinate meat overnight. Grill or broil on high for 7 minutes on each side. Slice thin against the grain.

When you’re getting started, stir fries, pastas and casseroles are the way to go.
Casserole might sound a bit daunting but it’s really not. Its just chopping stuff, mixing it in a big dish usually with stock (just a tablet that dissolves in boiling water), put in the oven for 30 mins and its done! you can make a csserole out of anything to and they are so tasty. You can have them with chips, mash or even crusty bread.
Look up sainsburys feed you family for a fivr recipes. They are reall cheap and easy and the food is great.(big portions). x x x

Spaghetti – brown some hamburger, boil some noodles, pour a jar of spaghetti sauce over the hamber, add the noodles. Top with parmesan cheese and eat. If you like you can add chopped onions, green peppers, mushrooms to your hamburger.
Tacos – brown some hamburger, add a packet of taco seasoning mix. Chop lettuce and tomatos. Put filling in taco shells, top with lettuce, tomatos and cheese.
Roast beef – buy a 3-4 lb roast. Put salt and pepper on the roast, put it in a baking pan with a cover (you can cover your pan with aluminum foil if it doesn’t have a lid). Throw in some onions, garlic, and about 1 c of water, beef broth or red wine. Cover and put in the oven set at 200 degrees and bake for 5-6 hours. It will be tender and juicy from cooking low and slow.
Roast chicken – Preheat oven to 350. Salt and pepper the chicken. Put chicken and about 1/2 c water in a baking dish in the oven. Bake for 2 hours. You can put onions, celery, carrots, garlic and parsley in the chicken cavity, or around the chicken for added flavor if you want – it isn’t necessary, but makes it taste better. You can use chicken stock or white wine in place of the water.
